SITUS Tax Consulting

UAE VAT & CT
The UAE introduced Value Added Tax (VAT) at a rate of 5% on January 1, 2018, as part of the GCC-wide agreement to diversify revenue sources beyond oil. Corporate Tax (CT) was later introduced, becoming effective on June 1, 2023, at a standard rate of 9% for businesses with taxable income exceeding AED 375,000. These measures align the UAE with global tax standards while supporting national economic development.
